Job summary

Compass Surgical Partners' Orthopaedic Institute Surgery Center in Metropolis, Illinois is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a PRN role. You will prepare operating rooms, manage instruments, and support the surgical team during orthopedic procedures in a high-quality outpatient setting.

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program with CST credential and at least 1 year OR experience in the last 3–5 years; AST membership preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential.
• At least 1 year of OR experience within the last 3–5 years.
• AST membership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical suites and sterile fields for orthopaedic procedures.
• Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and anticipating needs.
• Manage counts of instruments, needles, and sponges to ensure patient safety.
• Handle and label specimens properly.
• Support cleaning, restocking, and sterilization of surgical equipment.
• Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and staff to ensure smooth case flow.
