Job summary

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Clinical Instructor (HS) / Orthopaedic Surgery Research Coordinator.

The Clinical Instructor (HS) / Orthopaedic Surgery Research Coordinator will work collaboratively with faculty, physicians, residents, and interdisciplinary research teams to support clinical investigations, musculoskeletal research, and evidence-based advancements in Orthopaedic surgery.

Responsibilities

• Propose, design, coordinate, and conduct clinical and biomechanical research studies using appropriate methodologies and statistics.
• Develop research protocols, establish study objectives, and verify appropriate study designs and valid statistical methods.
• Collect, organize, and maintain study data including demographics, outcomes, and functional assessments.
• Perform statistical analyses using methods such as ANOVA, ANCOVA, linear regression, and related techniques.
• Prepare abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations for conferences and journals.
• Coordinate departmental research activities and manage electronic research databases.
• Support IRB compliance, HIPAA, and patient confidentiality standards.
