Job summary

Southlake Orthopaedics is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join our team in Alabama. The role includes assisting the surgeon in operative cases and handling patient assessments, orders, and care plans.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant studies from an ARC-PA accredited program, has completed the PANCE, and holds an Alabama license or is eligible. Orthopaedic surgery experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree Physician Assistant from an ARC-PA accredited program is required.
• Successful completion of PANCE is required.
• Unrestricted license (or eligibility) to practice in Alabama is required.
• Two years of Orthopaedic surgery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon in surgery.
• Perform patient progress notes, history and physical intake, triage, and consults.
• Issue and transcribe diagnostic orders and prescriptions.
• Formulate working diagnoses and develop treatment plans.
• Monitor effectiveness of therapies and patient status during rounds.
• Perform wound care, injections, labs, dressings, casting, and related tasks.
• Work on on-call schedule and provide patient education.
