Job summary

Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance in Tennessee is seeking a Physician Assistant to support orthopaedic surgeons in clinical and surgical settings. You will perform histories, physicals, order studies, assist in surgery, and provide patient education.

Travel to multiple clinics may be required; OR experience preferred; active PA license required. TOA offers comprehensive benefits and a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with Orthopaedic practice preferred.
• Current and active licenses and certifications.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
• Operating room experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive and problem-focused history and physical examinations.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies (e.g. x-rays, MRIs, CTs).
• Establish a diagnosis, determine a treatment plan, and order needed studies.
• Work closely with TOA surgeons to evaluate and treat patients in the office.
• Provide procedures; assist surgery and follow up as needed.
• Prepare prescription orders and authorize refills.
• Assist physicians with orthopaedic devices and fittings.
• Record patient progress notes and transcribe orders.
• Triage patient calls, answer questions, and educate patients and representatives.
• Provide monitoring and continuity of care; document services rendered.
