Position Summary

The Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine seeks applications for a full-time, non-tenure track clinical faculty position in Orthopaedic Surgery. The role involves practicing as a physician and providing teaching to residents and medical students, fostering future leaders in Orthopaedic care.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Provide direct patient care focusing on Orthopaedic Hand conditions, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
  2. Supervise, instruct, and train residents and medical/podiatry students in clinical and surgical settings.
  3. Develop and enhance the Orthopaedic Hand curriculum for trainees.
  4. Participate in outpatient clinics, inpatient procedures, and hospital rounds for Orthopaedic Hand patients.
  5. Provide evaluations for medical student and resident performances as required by accrediting agencies.
  6. Engage in departmental academic activities, including research, conferences, and community outreach.
  7. Perform other duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • MD/DO with board eligibility and progressing toward certification in Orthopaedic Surgery; fellowship training in Orthopaedic Hand Surgery with certification progress.
  • Licensed or eligible to obtain license in Illinois before starting.
  • Board-certified or eligible with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS).
  • Proven excellence in teaching and commitment to medical education.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Same as minimum qualifications, emphasizing fellowship training and licensure.
