Job summary

Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles, WA is seeking a skilled Orthopaedic Cast Technician to educate patients and to apply, adjust, and remove casts, braces, dressings, and splints in the Orthopaedic Clinic under physicians and PAs. Flexible schedule and a strong team environment are offered.

The role requires 2–4 years in orthopaedics, MA-R/MA-C preferred, BLS, and completion of an orthopaedic technician program or equivalent training.

Qualifications

• Two to four years’ experience in an orthopaedic setting required.
• Clinical experience as an orthopaedic technician (or a similar position) with emphasis on casting and fitting of braces and splints preferred.
• MA-R or MA-C required.
• Orthopaedic Technologist Certification preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• The Orthopaedic Cast Technician provides patient care in the Orthopaedic Clinic under the direction of the orthopaedic surgeon and PA-Cs to educate patients, to adjust, apply, and remove casts, braces, dressings, and splints, and to perform office procedures.
• The technician may assist with positioning the patient during surgical procedures, and is knowledgeable about instruments, supplies, and equipment used during orthopaedic procedures.
