Job summary

PhD Orthodontics in San Gabriel, CA seeks a motivated Registered Dental Assistant to join our orthodontic team. This role is available on a part-time or full-time basis, supporting chairside procedures, room preparation, X-ray work, and patient records management.

Ideal candidates hold an RDA license with CPR/BLS and orthodontic experience, and demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills in a patient-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license or certification required.
• Knowledge of chairside assisting techniques and orthodontic procedures.
• Ability to take and develop dental X-rays.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Maintain infection control and sterilization protocols.
• Customer-service oriented with a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists chairside during braces procedures, adjustments, and removals.
• Prepare and maintain treatment rooms; ensure instruments are sterilized and ready.
• Take and develop dental X-rays as needed.
• Manage patient records and update treatment documentation accurately.
• Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures and answering questions.
• Support infection control protocols and safety regulations.
• Coordinate appointment scheduling and assist with front office tasks as needed.
• Collaborate with the orthodontic team to ensure smooth workflow and patient satisfaction.
