Job description

We are committed to providing a comfortable, welcoming environment, where you’ll feel right at home. We are currently looking for a full-time Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our wonderful team! Below is more information about the position:

Schedule for the Orthodontic Dental Assistant:

  • Monday: 9:30AM-6:00PM

  • Tuesday: 11:00AM-7:00PM

  • Wednesday: 7:30AM-3:00PM

  • Thursday: 9:30AM-6:00PM

  • Friday: 9:30AM-1:00PM

Responsibilities and Requirements of the Orthodontic Dental Assistant:

  • 2+ years of general dental experience required

  • Prepare and maintain dental instruments, supplies/equipment, and orthodontic materials

  • Evaluate patient oral hygiene and cooperation

  • Take impressions and bite registrations

  • Scanning/Digital Impressions

  • Prepare teeth for bonding and assist doctor with bonding

  • Place and remove separators and fit bands

  • Check for loose bands and brackets at every appointment

  • Remove, size and place archwires, bands/brackets, and bonding cement

  • Record procedures in treatment card

  • Responsible for completing Easy Rx lab slips

  • Follow the dental office infection control plan to meet OSHA, CDC and local standards

  • Understanding of Novick Orthodontics sterilization protocol

  • Be available to help clean, sterilization/disinfection, and re-circulate instruments

  • Educate parents and patients on treatment progress

  • Initiate cooperation letters, deband letters, etc. are posted and sent when appropriate

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the doctor
