Job summary

Desort in Pensacola, FL is seeking an Orthodontic Dental Assistant to support orthodontists and clinical teams in delivering high-quality patient care. You will prepare treatment rooms, assist with braces and aligners, take impressions and radiographs, and maintain infection control.

The role requires a high school diploma, dental assisting certification/licensing, and current radiography certification. Prior orthodontic experience is preferred; strong communication and teamwork are essential

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Dental assisting certification or license as required by regulations.
• Current X-ray/radiography certification as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists during a variety of orthodontic procedures.
• Prepare and set up treatment rooms and equipment.
• Prepare patients for orthodontic treatment.
• Assist with brackets, bands, wires, aligners, and other appliances.
• Take dental impressions, digital scans, radiographs, and records as directed.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control procedures.
• Provide patients with instructions regarding oral hygiene, braces, aligners, and appliance care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Coordinate and track lab cases and appliances.
• Support efficient patient flow and clinical operations.
• Communicate effectively with patients, orthodontists, and team members.
• Maintain a positive and professional patient experience.
