Job summary

Staff Today Inc. is seeking an Orthodontic Dental Assistant in Parkville, MD to support orthodontists with patient care, sterilization, and front-office tasks.

The ideal candidate will have a dental assistant program completion or equivalent hands-on experience, CPR certification, and X-ray training. The role offers a local hourly wage of $33.33/hour, a standard 40-hour week, and a benefits package including CEUs, marketplace discounts, hotel savings, pet insurance, and an Employee Assistance

Qualifications

• Experience as an Orthodontics Assistant.
• Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or one year of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
• CPR card.
• X-ray training or certification.
• Additional certifications may be required.
• Copy of PSV from the licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test).

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments for orthodontic procedures.
• Assist the doctor with patient treatment, positioning instruments, and handling orthodontic appliances.
• Educate patients on treatment plans, post-procedure care, and oral hygiene.
• Manage patient scheduling and assist with front-office tasks as needed.
• Support dentists and staff with treatment planning, billing, and insurance matters.
• Ensure accurate submission of expenses and invoices.
• Maintain office inventory, including supplies and equipment.
• Address patient and employee concerns professionally.
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
