Job summary

Smile Doctors is seeking an Orthodontic Assistant to join our growing team in a clinical setting.

You will assist the Orthodontist, manage patient data, and educate patients on braces and remote monitoring. Responsibilities include instrument prep, sterilization, and maintaining strict infection-control protocols to deliver a positive clinical experience for every patient.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Some dental/orthodontic industry experience preferred.
• Dental Assistant certification may be required by state Dental Board.
• Radiography certification may be required by state Dental Board.
• CPR certification may be required by state Dental Board.

Responsibilities

• Assist in placing and removing orthodontic appliances under close supervision of the Orthodontist.
• Review patient charts, log appropriate patient data and transcribe doctor notes.
• Perform laboratory procedures under close supervision of the Orthodontist.
• Review remote monitoring dashboard including review/triage patient scans, responding to direct patient messages, and triage notifications.
• Educate patients on orthodontic care and remote monitoring.
• Clean, sterilize, and prepare the equipment and operatory following standard protocols.
• Adhere to all infection-control policies and protocols.
