Job summary

Cdpcareers is seeking an Orthodontic Assistant to travel with the orthodontic team in Waco and Killeen, TX. The RDAs will support doctors during treatment exams, prepare patients, and perform chairside duties with a focus on quality care and professionalism.

Responsibilities include removing and placing arch wires, taking x-rays, assisting with bonding, sterilizing equipment, and giving oral hygiene instructions.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
• Familiar with sterilization and OSHA guidelines.
• Experience in a clinical environment with patient contact preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for dental care.
• Assist the orthodontist at the chair during treatment.
• Anticipate the orthodontist's needs and prepare next steps.
• Remove and place arch wires.
• Prepare teeth prior to bonding.
• Perform accurate computer charting.
• Sterilize chairs and instruments.
• Instruct on oral hygiene.
• Place and remove brackets.
• Take panoramic and cephalometric x-rays and photos.
• Undertake lab tasks as instructed.

Orthodontic Assistant - Traveling

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Orthodontic Assistant will support doctors during treatment exams and all necessary functions. RDAs are responsible for performing all duties of a Registered Dental Assistant while providing quality customer service and maintaining a professional relationship and positive attitude with co-workers and patients alike.

This position will be responsible for and do the following:

• Greet and prepare patients for dental care
• Assist the orthodontist at the chair while they are engaged in any treatment of patients
• Excellent communication skills
• Must anticipate the orthodontist's needs and be prepared for the next steps
• Removal and placement of arch wires
• Tooth preparation prior to bonding
• Accurate computer charting
• Sterilization of chairs and instruments
• Responsible for oral hygiene instructions
• Placement and removal of brackets
• Take panoramic and cephalometric x-rays as well as oral photographs
• Undertake lab tasks as instructed

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of dental terminology and dental procedures
• Familiar with Sterilization
• Familiar with OSHA guidelines and procedures
• Experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact preferred
• Previous experience required
