Job summary

Gorman & Bunch Orthodontics in Indiana is seeking an Orthodontic Assistant to support our doctor team. You will work chairside with patients, take X-rays and photos, fabricate retainers, maintain charts, and ensure rooms, instruments, and sterilization are kept at a professional standard.

This full-time, day-shift role includes a benefits package with medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, and a bonus opportunity. A High School Diploma and 1–2 years orthodontic experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years orthodontic experience required.
• Knowledge of orthodontics and associated appliances and equipment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information and protect patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Establish a trusting rapport with patients, ensuring the highest level of patient customer service.
• Educate the patients on orthodontic care and treatment practices.
• Work chairside with patient care including assisting in placing and removing orthodontic appliances.
• Taking X-Rays, pictures, fabricating retainers.
• Maintain patients’ charts and transcribe the doctor notes accurately.
• Keep patient rooms stocked and organized as well as clean, sterilize, and prepare the equipment.
• Be receptive to coaching and training from doctors to better develop skillset.
• Other duties as required.
