About the Role

As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will work directly with orthodontists and patients to assist with orthodontic procedures and ensure a smooth and efficient workflow in the office. You will play a critical role in helping patients achieve their best smile by assisting with orthodontic procedures, providing excellent patient care, and supporting office operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and orthodontic procedures.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for use.
  • Take dental impressions and X-rays as directed by the orthodontist.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and care instructions for orthodontic appliances.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update charts with treatment information, in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Provide support to patients by addressing their questions and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient files.
  • Collaborate with the orthodontic team to ensure efficient workflow and excellent patient experiences.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years experience in an orthodontic setting, pediatrics is a plus.
  • Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License or Orthodontic Assistant License.
  • Successful completion of the initial online assessment provided during the application process.
  • Willingness to work 2 Saturdays a month.
  • Strong positive and friendly attitude, with excellent interpersonal skills to create a welcoming environment for patients and families.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient operations.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
