Qualifications

Job description

Greely & Nista Orthodontics is looking to add an Orthodontic Assistant to the team! The Orthodontic Assistant is responsible for providing support to an Orthodontist including patient care and chairside assistance and treatment for various forms of misalignment of teeth. This position executes on treatment plans with patients and families. The Orthodontic Assistant will be required to report to both the Newark and Wilmington DE offices.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide assistance to the Orthodontist while performing procedures including ensuring necessary tools.
  • Meet with patients, inquire about their braces experience, and any issues.
  • Cleaning, sterilizing and setup of instruments and appliances.
  • Prepare tooth impressions and assist in attachment of brackets, bands, and wires.
  • Assist with office duties including maintenance of patient records, ordering supplies, answering phones, and scheduling appointments.
  • Adhere to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA laws and guidelines with regards to patient records.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Attention to detail and familiarity with orthodontic software programs - particularly Cloud9.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
  • Taking impressions and digital scans. ITero or similar scanner proficiency preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of Dental or Orthodontic Assisting experience preferred.
  • Required certifications by state to work as an orthodontic assistant.
  • Required certifications to take radiographs (typically DANB RHS).
  • Current CPR certification.
