Gilmore Orthodontics is looking for a passionate and energetic Orthodontic Assistant to join our well-established practice in San Diego, CA. In this vital role, you'll support the practice by guiding people through their orthodontic journey while contributing to our practice's growth and success.

Full-time

$20.00-$25.00/per hr.

Your Role

As an Orthodontic Assistant, you’ll play a pivotal role in creating positive patient experiences and driving our practice’s success. Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare patients for treatment by welcoming, comforting, and seating them.
  • Build positive relationships with patients, families, and coworkers to ensure the targeted outcome treatment remains on schedule.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene.
  • Enter detailed chart/record notations in the practice management system.
  • Take x-rays, photos, impressions, and intraoral scans.
  • Provide reports to parents/guardians.
  • Assist Orthodontist with consultations and all stages of orthodontic procedures.
  • Clean/disinfect operatories and sterilize instruments and devices.
  • Set up trays and prepare brackets for bonding.
  • Unload and store new supplies.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Doctor, Clinical Lead, and Practice Manager.

About You

  • Orthodontic Assistant experience is preferred, or Registered Dental Assistant.
  • Good understanding of relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency with orthodontic/dental management software systems is preferred, but not required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build strong relationships and rapport with patients, parents, doctors, fellow team members, and the community.
  • Keen attention to detail and time management skills.
