Description: Jungle Roots Children’s Dentistry & Orthodontics has served the Ahwatukee area for over 30 years, focusing on compassionate, high-quality patient care in a welcoming environment. We are seeking a dedicated Orthodontic Assistant to support our team, create a friendly environment for patients, and assist in various orthodontic procedures.

Schedule

This is a PRN opportunity, 2-3 days a week as needed, with potential to increase days.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining patient flow and seating patients promptly
• Place separators, elastic chains, and wires
• Prepare teeth for bonding of braces and Invisalign attachments
• Scale cement and check for loose brackets or bonds
• Monitor and instruct on oral hygiene
• Stock and clean treatment areas
• Debrief with patients and parents post-appointment
• Take X-rays, iTero scans, and impressions
• Chart patient notes and schedule follow-up appointments
• Answer parent questions regarding treatment
• Assist Orthodontist during procedures
• Anticipate doctor needs and act accordingly
• Sterilize instruments
• Perform additional tasks as assigned
• Attend staff meetings and adhere to policies
• Represent the practice positively

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year dental assisting experience; orthodontics preferred
• X-Ray Certification a plus
• Self-motivated, organized, positive attitude
• Strong understanding of dental terminology
• Excellent communication skills
• Great customer service and public relations skills
• Reliable, punctual, willing to stay late if needed

Salary

$20-$25 per hour
