Job summary

Family Orthodontics is seeking an experienced Orthodontic Assistant to join our busy, fast-paced practice, traveling between our Smyrna and Union City locations in GA. Schedule: 4 days per week, 7:15 AM–4:30 PM. Travel pay provided.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 1 year of hands-on orthodontic assisting experience and a proven ability to work efficiently in a high-volume setting. Must be dependable, energetic and team-oriented.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on orthodontic assisting experience required.
• Internship/externship experience does not count toward the one-year requirement.
• Must be comfortable traveling between Smyrna and Union City.
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume practice.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with bonding and debonding procedures.
• Placing and removing orthodontic wires.
• Changing archwires, elastics, and power chains.
• Placing orthodontic separators.
• Taking impressions and/or digital scans.
• Taking orthodontic X-rays and photographs.
• Preparing patients for orthodontic procedures.
• Providing instructions for elastics, retainers, and orthodontic appliances.
• Performing orthodontic records and chart documentation.
• Sterilizing instruments and maintaining treatment areas.
• Assisting the orthodontist with other clinical procedures as needed.
