Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Orthodontic Assistant program is required.
  • 3+ years of Orthodontic Assisting experience preferred.

$10k – 15k sign-on bonus. 50% paid now and 50% paid in 6 months.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our team. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a critical role in performing different orthodontic procedures with the doctor, which includes prepping the patients, assisting the Orthodontist, and closing all chairside procedures, all while creating a comfortable environment for the patient. The Orthodontic Assistant will be responsible for knowing our policies and procedures to provide patients and families with orthodontic care instructions and dental health education.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for procedures, assist Orthodontist during procedures, and finish patient’s appointment.
  • Be prepared for each procedure by reviewing patient notes to know what procedures will be done and what instruments will be needed.
  • Provide patients and families with proper orthodontic care instructions, dental health education, and diet recommendations.
  • Help patients and parents feel comfortable at each visit.
  • Communicate patients’ treatment needs to appropriate clinic staff.
  • Take panorex and cephalometric x-rays, and intraoral scans for patient treatment.

Skills:

As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will utilize your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide exceptional patient care and support. You will also use your technical skills to assist the orthodontist in providing treatment to patients, including taking X-rays and maintaining patient records. Additionally, you will use your organizational skills to ensure that the orthodontic office is clean, organized, and well-stocked with supplies. Your ability to work in a fast-paced environment and your familiarity with orthodontic software and technology will also be essential to your success in this role.

  • Monday - Friday 7:55 AM - 5:00 PM

  • Benefits Offered
  • Pay Range: $22 - $33 Hourly *based on experience
  • $10k – 15k signing bonus. 50% paid now and 50% paid in 6 months based on NY DA licensure status.
  • Locations: Albany, Delmar, Latham, East Greenbush, and Clifton Park. Team members must be willing to commute to all 5 locations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Orthodontic Assistant program
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an orthodontic office
  • Familiarity with orthodontic software and technology (e.g., Cloud9)
  • NY State Dental Assisting License/Registration or the ability to obtain NY Dental Assisting License within 1 year of employment
  • 3+ years of Orthodontic Assisting Experience.
