Job summary

Hughston Clinic is seeking a Unit Secretary/Nurse Support Tech for the night shift (7p-7a). Under RN supervision, you will perform unit clerical duties, monitor patient vitals, assist with basic patient care, and support staff with triage and discharge tasks. The role includes blood draws, EKGs, and maintaining a safe, organized unit environment.

Qualifications include at least a high school diploma, hospital experience preferred, and BLS. Phlebotomist and CNA certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• One year hospital experience preferred
• High school education required
• Phlebotomist certification preferred
• CNA certification preferred
• BLS required

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care as directed and monitor vitals
• Chart and document patient data accurately
• Answer phones and perform clerical duties in the unit
• Notify RN of changes in patient condition
• Assist with patient transport and room turnover
• Support unit orientation and training for new staff
• Perform ancillary testing (blood draws, EKGs) per policy
• Maintain organized supplies and equipment for efficient workflow
