Job summary

Mission Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for the Orthopaedic Trauma unit to lead high-quality, patient-centered care during the shift and partner with the management team to support nursing excellence.

You will oversee admissions/discharges, staff scheduling, training, and inventory management while promoting a collaborative, patient-first culture and adherence to policies and performance standards.

Qualifications

• RN license required
• Bachelor's Degree
• BLS within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
• Participates in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services in the unit.
• Collaborates with managers to create a teamwork-focused environment that improves outcomes and service.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
• Implements nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly rounds, to improve engagement.
• Provides recommendations on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff and ensures staff evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor according to patient care needs.
• Supports inventory control and assists with supplies and equipment management.
