Tenet Healthcare is seeking an OR Orthopedic Technician to support surgical teams. Under RN supervision, you will transport patients to the OR and assist in positioning and preparation for procedures.

Responsibilities include patient handling, cleaning OR rooms between cases, stocking, and acting as a courier between units. A High School diploma or GED is required, with one year of orthopedic experience preferred and BLS certification standard.

Formación

• Ability to move objects and stand for long periods.
• Good body mechanics and lifting techniques.
• BLS certification required or current.
• Frequent patient contact in OR environment is common.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in positioning and holding patients for surgical prep as requested by OR staff.
• Transport surgical patients safely to the operating room.
• Clean OR rooms between cases and stock supplies.
• Serve as a courier between hospital units and support orthopedic needs in OR and nursing areas.

Job Type: Per Diem

The OR Orthopedic Technician, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, ensures the safe transport of the surgical patients to the operating room. Performs pre-operative clip of surgical patients. Acts as a courier between the related units of the hospital. Assists in positioning and holding patients for surgical prep when requested in addition to providing traction set-up and other orthopedic needs in the OR, as well as the nursing units. Other duties include cleaning of OR rooms between cases, and various other areas of the department, stocking rooms and ordering supplies.

Education:

• Minimum: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Preferred: One (1) year Orthopedic experience.

Experience:

Working knowledge of operating room environment, frequent and indirect patient contact preferred.

Other Qualifications:

• Ability to move objects, use of good body mechanics, ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• (BLS) American Heart Association Basic Life Support
