Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Ortho and Spine Specialty on the weekend night shift. You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care on a 24-bed unit, collaborating with providers and care teams to meet department standards and patient needs.

The role emphasizes supporting patients and families, educating them about conditions and care plans, and participating in ongoing skill development under supportive leadership.

Qualifications

• Graduate of school of nursing required.
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
• Current BCLS.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient‘s condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient‘s medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient‘s medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
• WEEKEND NIGHT SHIFT (7P-7A; work 24 hours, paid for 36 hours plus NIGHT differential); fast paced 32 bed unit; opportunities for skill development & professional growth under dynamic, supportive leadership; manage complex injuries & post surgical care; tight-knit teamwork; perfect fit for motivated, detail orientated nursing professionals.
