The Role

The primary duty of the Ortho Registered Dental Assistant is to assist in the overall delivery of orthodontic care and to be an integral part of the patient care team by delivering a memorable and fun service experience for every patient, every day.

Position Description

Reports To: Patient Care Leader

Position Status: Non-exempt

The Essential Job Elements
  • Prepare treatment area for patient following procedures and protocols.
  • Welcome, comfort, and seat patients.
  • Assist the doctor with bonding and debonding procedures.
  • Perform orthodontic adjustments.
  • Manage and store orthodontic records per company policy.
  • Perform infection control procedures.
  • Take x-rays.
  • Perform lab-related procedures.
  • Assist at patient check-out.
  • Complete care calls and send thank you cards.
  • Manage supply inventory.
  • Document services in patient records.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations (HIPAA, OSHA, ADA, Dental Board).
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Desired Profile/Background
  • Minimum 1-2 years of recent Orthodontic experience.
  • Current and active RDA license and CPR certification.
  • Upbeat personality and love for working with children.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Knowledge of Dentrix is a plus.
  • Travel to other office locations required.
