Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with strong orthopedic circulating experience for a 13-week day shift assignment.

You must hold an active Massachusetts RN license, BLS, and have a minimum of 2 years in the OR, including arthroscopies and total joint replacements; Epic or Cerner charting experience is required for first-time travelers. The role also includes call on weekdays and weekends with a 4x10 schedule.

Qualifications

• Active MA RN license required in hand.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required.
• Strong orthopedic circulating experience required, including arthroscopies and total joint replacements.
• Experience with additional orthopedic procedures preferred, including ACL reconstruction, arthrotomy, carpal tunnel release, closed and open reduction of fractures, laminectomy/discectomy, and spinal fusion.
• Epic or Cerner charting experience required for first-time travelers.

Responsibilities

• Operating Room setting performing approximately 25 cases per day.
• Patient population includes pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Case mix includes general, GYN, heavy orthopedics, cysto, ophthalmology, ENT, podiatry, and small amounts of vascular, neuro, and thoracic surgery.
• Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Uses Omnicell medication system and Cerner documentation system.
• Call required on both weekdays and weekends.
• Holiday rotation required.
• No floating required.
• Must be able to circulate all orthopedic cases including arthroscopies and total joints.
• First-time travelers considered if they have 2-3 years of experience and either Epic or Cerner experience.
• Returning staff must wait one year before being eligible to return as a traveler.
