DMOS Orthopaedic Centers in West Des Moines is seeking a full-time Operating Room Supervisor. The role supports a five-operating-room ASC serving orthopaedic cases, with a Monday–Friday schedule, no on-call coverage, and a strong emphasis on teamwork and patient care.

The ideal candidate holds an active Iowa RN license with BLS and ACLS, two years in orthopaedics or ASC, and the ability to prioritize, adapt to change, and lead staff through busy days with strong communication.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license to practice in Iowa as a Registered Nurse.
• Active BLS and ACLS Certification.
• Two years prior experience in orthopaedics or ASC preferred.
• Ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility of hours based on scheduled cases.
• Excellent organizational, communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to handle busy environments and adapt to change.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily surgery schedule; manages and communicates daily changes across areas.
• Reviews next-day schedule and establishes case order based on physician preference and resources.
• Coordinate with control staff to verify pre-admission requirements and assist with chart reviews.
• Monitor scheduling for surgeon requests and ensure performance within privileges; communicate issues to manager.
• Other duties to ensure organizational efficiency and outstanding patient care.

The Orthopaedic Outpatient Surgery Center (OOSC) is seeking a full-time Operating Room Supervisor. The OOSC is exclusive to DMOS surgeons performing a wide variety of orthopaedic cases from hand to total joints. This position is a Monday thru Friday position. • Creates, maintains, and supports an environment which fosters teamwork, empowers staff and promotes professional, positive physician and patient relations throughout the center.
• Oversees daily surgery schedule; manages and communicates daily changes throughout all areas in a timely manner. Reviews surgery schedule for the following day and establishes case order based on physician preference, patient needs/requests, and instruments/equipment availability.
• Coordinate with Control staff to verify patient pre-admission requirements are completed prior to day of surgery and assist with Anesthesia chart reviews/patient approvals prior to surgery and monitor scheduling sheets for surgeon special requests and/or patient needs.-Monitors healthcare providers to ensure performance is within delineation of privileges and communicates any issues to the Surgical Services Clinical Manager.
• Other duties as assigned that ensure organizational efficiency and outstanding patient care.

What does an outstanding OR Supervisor look like?
