Position Overview

The Orthodontic Assistant performs various tasks requiring interpersonal and technical skills to assist the dentist and promote Familia Dental’s culture, mission, and values.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Maintain accurate records of patients' oral health histories and treatment progress.
• Ensure all orthodontic instruments and equipment are properly sterilized before each use.
• Keep patients’ mouths dry during procedures using a suction hose as needed.
• Take intraoral X-rays of patients’ mouths.
• Photograph patients’ teeth to aid in treatment planning and progress documentation.
• Take dental molds for the fabrication of mouth guards and retainers.
• Remove and replace wires, coil springs, donuts, and elastic bands.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and braces aftercare.
• Perform other duties as assigned. (Note: duties may vary based on state regulations.)

• Friday, 8:45 AM - 6:30 PM
• Saturday, 7:45 AM - 2:45 PM
• Part-time: 2+ days a week, up to 29 hours/week
• Available to work every other Saturday
