As an Orthodontic Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the orthodontic team to deliver excellent patient care in a welcoming and professional environment. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and treatment procedures.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and ensure instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained.
  • Take and process digital radiographs, photographs, impressions, and scans as permitted by state regulations.
  • Place and remove orthodontic appliances, archwires, ligatures, and other materials as directed by the orthodontist.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, appliance care, and treatment expectations.
  • Update and maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes.
  • Monitor inventory and assist with ordering clinical supplies as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and office safety protocols.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and help create a positive patient experience.
  • Support office operations and collaborate with team members to achieve practice goals.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Dental Assistant certification/licensure as required by state regulations.
  • Current radiology certification if required by state regulations.
  • Minimum of 1 year of dental assisting experience preferred.
  • Orthodontic assisting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, instruments, and terminology.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with digital scanners and orthodontic software.
  • Experience assisting with braces, clear aligners, and other orthodontic appliances.
  • CPR certification.
