Position Description

Ortho Clinical Specialist – Wound Protection and Retraction

Position Overview

As the Ortho Clinical Specialist in the NY/CT area, you will be responsible for selling the clinical value of the Alexis Orthopaedic Protector directly to surgeons. Your role involves promoting the benefits of using the Alexis Orthopaedic Protector in surgeries such as total hip and shoulder replacements. You will cover a large geographic area, schedule product evaluations with surgeons and surgical groups, and collaborate closely with our existing Field team for each account. Your primary goal is to drive growth and utilization of our Alexis Orthopaedic Protector through activities including:

  1. Establishing and maintaining relationships with surgeons and key contacts in assigned hospital accounts
  2. Exceeding quota expectations as set by management
  3. Providing exceptional support and service to your accounts
Position Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of successful outside sales experience (B2B or similar)
  • Basic sales training
  • Resourceful, goal-oriented, self-starter with entrepreneurial drive
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal)
  • Proven performance record with documented success
  • Residency in the geographical area or willingness to relocate
  • Ability to travel for training and client meetings
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • COVID-19 vaccination required, subject to applicable laws
Preferred Qualifications

Additional Assets

  • Experience in orthopaedic procedures (joint, hip, shoulder)
  • Medical device and OR experience
  • Knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and physiology
  • Cold calling experience with surgeons and physician assistants
  • Relationship-building with OR staff and administrators
  • Formal sales training
  • Existing relationships or knowledge of the medical device market
Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $47,000 - $70,000 per year for NY/CT. Actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, certifications, and location. Additional compensation may include bonuses and incentive plans. Our total rewards package includes:
