Job summary

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center is seeking a Charge Nurse (RN) for the Orthopedics department to oversee nursing care during night shifts in Bradenton, FL. This role requires leadership of a multidisciplinary team and ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate has an accredited RN program, Florida license, BLS, and 1–3 years of supervisory experience in acute care, with ACLS/NRP/PALS as applicable. Join a facility with extensive benefits and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS at time of hire.
• Current Florida or Compact Nursing License.
• Minimum of one year full-time or three years part-time experience in acute care specialty nursing.
• One to three years of supervisory experience, preferred.
• Add'l certifications required at start date: ACLS (excluding nursery), NRP for Women's Center, NIH for ICU/PCU, PALS/CPI for ER, NIH for start date; PACU: PALS within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assumes shift responsibility and accountability for planning and provision of direct and indirect nursing care.
• Coordinates multi-disciplinary team members and directs nursing staff to safe, optimal outcomes.
• Supports activities that meet the facility vision, mission and goals.
• Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates service excellence and strong communication and customer service skills.
