Louisiana Works is seeking an ORS Specialist to audit unemployment insurance claims for accuracy and compliance in Baton Rouge, LA. You will review claimant and employer records, interview stakeholders, and initiate corrective actions under state and federal guidelines.
This role supports UI program operations and requires attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Ideal candidates will have relevant experience or a bachelor’s degree and will undergo background checks and drug screening.

The ORS Specialist 1/2/3/4 position is responsible for conducting audits of unemployment insurance claims to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and agency policies. Duties include reviewing records, interviewing claimants and employers, analyzing evidence, identifying discrepancies or errors, and initiating appropriate corrective action.
OUIA oversees Louisiana’s Unemployment Insurance (UI) program, which provides temporary financial assistance to eligible workers who are unemployed through no fault of their own. The office manages the full UI lifecycle, including employer tax collection, benefit claims processing, fraud prevention, and appeals.
Three years of experience in unemployment insurance, workforce development programs, workers’ compensation, administrative services, or social services; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
A bachelor’s degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
