ASRC Federal System Solutions (AFSS) seeks an ORION Precision Cleaning Technician, Senior, 1st Shift, at Kennedy Space Center, FL. The role focuses on precision cleaning, inspection, and assembly of aerospace hardware in sterile cleanrooms, with strict contamination-control practices.

You will perform chemical, solvent, mechanical, and ultrasonic cleaning, inspect using borescopes, and validate integrity through pressure testing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; hands-on mechanical/manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to safely work with chemicals, solvents, and high‑pressure test equipment.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure zero particulate contamination in flight hardware.
• Ability to follow strict procedures and work in cleanroom environments.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Support precision cleaning, inspection, and assembly of aerospace flight hardware in ISO-class cleanrooms.
• Follow detailed work instructions, safety procedures, contamination-control requirements, and FOD-prevention practices.
• Perform precision chemical, solvent, mechanical, and ultrasonic cleaning of flight tubing and components.
• Inspect tubing and assemblies using borescopes and specialized tooling to verify cleanliness and quality conformance.
• Conduct hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing to validate tube structural integrity.
• Perform material preparation tasks including cutting, deburring, and honing raw metal tubing prior to fabrication.
• Handle and transport aerospace hardware with extreme care while maintaining flight-readiness standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation, traceability, and cleanliness records within controlled manufacturing processes.
• Support assembly technicians and engineers with contamination-critical hardware preparation and integration tasks.
