Job summary

ASRC Federal System Solutions (AFSS) seeks a Senior Spacecraft Technician Mechanical for 3rd shift at Kennedy Space Center, FL. The role focuses on harness fabrication, testing and installation of spacecraft assemblies, working from schematics and BD tools in a production/development setting.

Responsibilities include performing modifications, rework and quality testing, and using standard electronic assembly tools to construct sub-assemblies and components.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical background with harness fabrication, testing and installation.
• Experience with electronic or electro-mechanical assemblies in development or production environments.
• Ability to read schematics/blueprints and follow oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assemble developmental and production units from schematics and drawings.
• Perform modifications, rework and quality testing as needed.
• Work with standard electronic assembly tools and materials.
• Maintain compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Hold or pursue A&P (Airframe & Power-plant) license as applicable.

Job description

We are seeking a ORION Spacecraft Technician Mechanical, Senior, 3rd Shiftin Kennedy Space Center, FL.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Strong mechanical background stemming from harness fabrication, testing, and installation.
• Performs a variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly tasks in support of specific production units, developmental or prototype requirements in product development, manufacturing engineering or preproduction operations where documentation and guidance may be limited.
• Works from schematics, blueprints and oral instructions to construct developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components.
• Uses standard electronic assembly tools and materials.
• May perform modifications, rework, and quality testing.
• A&P (Airframe & Power-plant) license

Requirements:

• High school diploma, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned technical/para-engineering tasks 3+ years or more of experience.
• Must be a US Citizen
