ASRC Federal System Solutions (AFSS) seeks an ORION Electrical Manufacturing Engineer Senior for the 3rd shift at Kennedy Space Center, FL. You will plan and write procedures for Orion spacecraft assembly, support the floor, and drive manufacturability across electrical and mechanical interfaces.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 5-7 years in manufacturing, experience with SAP/ERP, CAD/CAM tools, and configuration management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in production manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Experience with Engineering Change Management.
  • Experience evaluating and dispositioning non-conformant hardware.
  • At least 1 year experience using SAP or similar ERP/MES for manufacturing docs (work instructions, routings, MBOM).
  • Experience with harness assembly, instrumentation, and electrical components installations.
  • Ability to review engineering drawings and support production floor.
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Windchill/EPDM or similar.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software such as Creo Parametric/CreoView/EdgeCAM/Delmia.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to write technical reports.

ASRC Federal System Solutions (AFSS) is seeking a ORION Electrical Manufacturing Engineer Senior, 3rd shift in Kennedy Space Center, FL.

Role/Responsibilities
  • Plans and authors procedures for the Orion Spacecraft elements and provides floor support for a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Performs various duties including creating and/or developing harness installation, and component integration, manufacturing work instructions.
  • Determines the sequence of build, selecting or designing required tools, and solves production problems during the build of mechanical/electrical piece parts and assemblies.
  • Assists in investigating design/manufacturing factors such as equipment or part availability, manufacturability, ease of assembly, and large assembly management.
  • Develops and maintains all assembly documentation.
  • Trouble shoot/correct anomalies and discrepant hardware.
  • Performs producibility reviews on engineering designs/drawings to assess manufacturability, ease of assembly, and material availability.
  • Routinely interfaces with program personnel and reports project status to leadership.
  • Primarily will be supporting 3rd shift (Monday-Friday, 8hrs/day, approx. 9:30pm-6am).
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 5-7 years of experience/or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Knowledge of production manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Experience with Engineering Change Management.
  • Experience in evaluating and dispositioning non-conformant hardware.
  • Minimum 1 year experience demonstrating use of SAP or similar ERP/MES software for generating manufacturing work instructions, routings, product structure, and manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM).
  • Experience with harness assembly, instrumentations, and electrical components (hardware) installations.
  • Experience reviewing engineering drawings as well as providing technical support to the production floor.
  • Experience and understanding of configuration management practices and databases such as Windchill, EPDM, or similar.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software such as Creo Parametric, CreoView, EdgeCAM, Delmia
  • Good verbal and written communication including technical writing. Ability to read, analyze and interpret various technical procedures and reports. Ability to write reports and keep accurate documentation.
  • Advanced Skills in the Microsoft Office software suite.
  • Position is permanently located at KSC, FL. Ability to travel as necessary.
  • Availability to train on first shift for a period of time, then work third shift. Expected to adjust their schedule accordingly to support off-shifts and weekend activities if needed.
