Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an organized mortgage loan processor assistant in Alaska. You will support origination, manage documentation, and coordinate with borrowers, agents, and lenders to keep loan processes on track.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Typing proficiency and knowledge of office machines.
• Two years of general office experience including direct customer contact.
• Math aptitude or one year of mortgage loan-related experience preferred.
• Personal computer skills.
• Ability to quickly learn mortgage origination-related programs.
• Basic knowledge of Mortgage Ware, Microsoft Office, Desktop Underwriter, Word, Excel, Access, and Microsoft Publisher.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, organized, and effective in communication.
• Ability to get along well with the public.
• Ability to accomplish assigned tasks with minimal or no supervision within established time frames.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to the originator in the origination and processing of mortgage loans.
• Accept telephone calls, coordinate appointments, respond to inquiries, and provide updated loan status to real estate agents and borrowers.
• Input loan applications, print origination documentation and disclosures, obtain borrower signatures, and review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Photocopy borrower documentation, including tax returns, paycheck stubs, and bank statements.
• Set up mortgage application files and verify information with employers, banks, and creditors or through acceptable alternative documentation.
• Order and follow up on credit reports, appraisals, and prelims.
• Maintain ongoing communication with clients and real estate agents.
• Perform tasks related to marketing and advertising.
• Arrange pickup and delivery of documents, brochures, loan packages, and miscellaneous items.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
