This position is responsible for verifying materials using the Finished Goods process order and for loading materials into the Line 2 Depal Orientor. Additional responsibilities include the setup and changeover of the Line 2 glass depalletizer and orientor.

The role ensures compliance with all Food Safety requirements and the accuracy of all related documentation. The employee will ensure containers are delivered to the Line 2 Filler in a timely manner and promptly report any delays in material flow.

Job Description

Schedule : Monday - Saturday (Sundays as needed) - 2nd Shift: 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Salary: Based on experience and other qualifications: $23.29 per hour + $1.00 Shift Differential

Essential Functions, Duties, And Responsibilities

  • Follow standard work instructions developed for the Line 2 Depal Orientor.
  • Follow all published SOPs.
  • Follow required LOTO procedures and maintain LOTO Certification for Line 2 Depal and Orientor.
  • Perform container changeovers safely and efficiently on both the glass depal and plastic bulk orientor machine.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and change belts, bottle hooks, etc.
  • Verify centerline settings are loaded onto drives, verify proper changeover parts are installed onto the plastic bulk orientor
  • Properly prep all pallets of containers that are loaded onto the elevator of the glass line 2 depal and in the dumper of the line 2 orientor bulk dumper. Prep all staged pallets by both machines.
  • Identifying if there are any container changeovers on the Production schedule and communicating with filler operator to ensure changeovers are accurate.
  • Must inspect pallets of containers prior to loading them into the Line 2 Depal and Orientor.
  • Verify proper container size and material number matches the Finished Goods process order.
  • Properly report and sign-off on required Line 2 Depal and orientor paperwork.
  • Ensure all materials brought into the Line 2 Depal orientor are properly verified to the process order and all pallet tags are accounted for.
  • Ensure all dunnage is pulled from the machine in a timely manner to avoid delays or gaps sent to the filler.
  • Immediately notify supervisor and QA of any food safety issues.
  • Perform Sanitation activities to include blow down of the machine removing any glass breakage/debris and wipe down of the machine.
  • Ensure area is maintained through workplace organization (i.e. housekeeping utensils, tools, etc.).
  • Ensure empty pallet stacks on the pallet dispenser are picked up in a timely manner by communicating with the Forklift Operator.
  • Communicate with Filler operator to inform them of any potential downtime, changeovers, last layer containers, etc.
  • Communicate with Forklift operator to ensure containers are at the Depal orientor or when running low on containers.
  • Must keep work area clean and free of glass breakage and when glass breakage is present perform the glass breakage protocol process.
  • Complete all other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Must adhere to all safety policies.
  • Operates the Line 2 Depal and Line 2 Orientor in its full capacity and sanitize equipment when required.
  • Performs periodic quality checks as needed.
  • Consistently maintains clean and safe work area being sure to remove any foreign material that could contaminate product.
  • Efficiently communicates mechanical problems with the Line 1 Depal, or conveyors to ensure continuous operation.
  • Must wear all required PPE.
  • Inform Management of ANY Food safety or Quality issues or of any processes, which become noncompliant with specified requirements.
  • Safely and accurately perform all duties as required for this position to ensure the safety and quality of our products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Leadership Team.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Must be able to work with hand tools and with HMI screens.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Must have communication skills.

Physical Demands

  • Standing and walking is required 100% of the time.
  • The use of both hands is required 100% of the time.
  • Heavy lifting required 50% of the time.
  • Consistent walking and climbing up and down stairs.
  • Must be able to work in a hot and cold environment.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to perform the following: standing, climbing, pulling, pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and stooping.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.

Knowledge And Critical Skill Requirements

  • Validation on position or machine will be required after initial training.
  • Must be dependable and reliable to handle equipment safely and sensibly with little supervision.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instruction, as well as basic math calculations.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work on and operate the Line 2 Depal and Line 2 Orientor.
  • Must be able to work mandatory overtime, including Saturdays/Sundays, as determined by business needs.
  • Must be able to work twelve (12) hour shifts.
  • Experience in manufacturing or production preferred.
  • Experience working with manufacturing equipment preferred.
