Candor Consulting & Diagnostics is seeking an Orientation and Mobility Specialist to empower students with visual impairments to navigate their educational environments safely and independently. You will collaborate with ARD teams to develop IEPs/IFSPs, teach cane techniques, assess progress with data, and coordinate with teachers, families, and related services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Orientation and Mobility, Special Education, or related field.
• ACVREP certification; Texas EC-12 preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of IDEA and ARD process; CPR preferred.
• Bilingual skills preferred but not required.

Responsabilités

• Develop IEPs and IFSPs focused on orientation and mobility needs.
• Teach cane techniques, navigation, and use of assistive technology.
• Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress and adjust strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families.
• Promote safety and independence in school, home, and community.
• Support transition goals to post-secondary environments.
