Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, seeks an Information Scientist- Organic/Biological Chemist to curate high-quality chemical literature for CAS products and services. The role supports database building and literature indexing across 180 countries and 50+ languages.

The ideal candidate holds an advanced degree in Organic Chemistry (preferred) or a related field, with coursework in organic chemistry and strong reading/writing skills.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Organic Chemistry or related field, or a BS with 1–3 years of related experience.
• Completion of organic chemistry coursework is required.
• Familiarity with naming conventions and structural descriptions of chemical substances.
• Excellent scientific reading and writing skills.
• Strong learning agility and ability to apply new policies and tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide database building support for chemical and life sciences literature curation into CAS products and services.
