Job summary

Advocate Health Lifeshare: Organ is seeking a dedicated professional to perform aseptic recovery of tissue and coordinate preservation and transport of donated organs. The role requires hands-on experience with preservation equipment and strong teamwork across hospital staff and external partners.

The candidate should have an Associates Degree or CT preservation certifications, with additional CTBS/CTP credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or Certified Transplant Preservationist (CTP) or Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS) certification required.
• Experience with organ preservation procedures and coordination of recovery teams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs aseptic recovery of tissue including eyes, bones, ligaments, heart valves, vessels and skin.
• Coordinates recovery, preservation and transportation of donated organs.
• Operates preservation machines and ensures proper cannulation and placement on preservation devices.
• Communicates with medical examiners, nursing supervisors and funeral directors as required.
• Ensures all recovered organs and tissues are properly packaged per policy and regulatory requirements.
• Performs decontamination and sterilization of LifeShare instruments.
