Job summary

ARORA seeks a Surgical Preservation Coordinator (SPC) to lead intraoperative organ recovery, perfusion, and preservation for donor organs. The SPC oversees a team of medical professionals and collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, technologists, and OR staff to ensure successful donor organ recovery.

The role requires advanced anatomical knowledge and technical expertise, autonomous problem-solving, and strong data entry and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Surgical Technician or Certified Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year OR experience.
• Training/experience in organ preservation, transplantation or surgical/sterile techniques.
• Maintain vaccinated status and health screenings as required.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential.
• Ability to work autonomously and self-schedule in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee recovery, perfusion, labeling and documentation per regulatory policies.
• Assist in removal of organs for transplant or research per protocol.
• Perform aseptic kidney perfusion/pulsatile machine perfusion under physician guidance.
• Prepare donor kidneys for PMP device including cannulation and anatomical review.
• Maintain organ inventory and ensure timely data entry into donor records.
• Coordinate with transplant centers, OR staff, and donor hospitals.
• Archive organ specimens and ensure proper packaging for transport.
• Work overtime or beyond shifts as required to complete cases.
