Job summary

The Oregon Department of Human Services in The Dalles is seeking a Public Benefits Specialist to determine eligibility and connect Oregonians with needed services. In this in-office role, you will interview applicants, review information, assist with changes to benefits, update narrative case notes, and coordinate with ODHS programs to support families.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in human services or related field with public interactions.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform eligibility determinations, redeterminations, and reviews for ODHS programs.
• Interview applicants in person or by phone to collect needed information.
• Assess client needs and connect families to resources and services.
• Update narrative case notes with new information and conclusions.
