Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel, both military and private industry.

Responsibilities

  • Operate energetic support equipment and related production tools.
  • Follow SOPs and work instructions for ordnance handling.
  • Maintain production records using automated systems or paper logs.
  • Collaborate with team, supervisors, quality personnel, and engineering to meet production goals.
  • Identify and report quality issues, shortages or equipment malfunctions.
  • Utilize forklifts, trucks and other lifting equipment safely.
  • Assist in assembling mechanical components per approved procedures.
  • Perform sanding and painting operations as required.

Job description

Cruz Associates Inc. of Yorktown, VA has an open position for an Ordnance Technician I. The job location is at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, Oklahoma.

Scope of Performance

Ordnance Technicians will support assembling, inspecting, testing, and maintenance or ordnance handling equipment. Technicians will follow established work instructions, engineering specifications, quality standards, and production schedules. This position is full‑time, includes overtime, and is subject to Department of Transportation physical examinations and certification requirements. Technicians will work in all processing areas as determined by management or COR.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of duties that include, but are not limited to, operation of energetic support equipment
  • Understand and utilize hazardous waste practices for transport and storage
  • Assemble mechanical components using approved procedures and work instructions
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedure for production of energetic/hazardous material
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and production equipment safely and effectively
  • Identify and report quality issues, material shortages, equipment malfunctions, or process discrepancies
  • Use equipment such as forklifts, trucks, and other lifting equipment
  • Operate sanding and painting equipment
  • Maintain production records of assets using automated information systems and/or paper logbooks
  • Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, quality personnel, and engineering to support production objectives
  • Follow written procedures, guidelines, and standard operating procedures
Education and Experience - Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • U.S. Citizen and valid driver's license
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
