Job summary

ITnova is seeking an experienced H-1 Ordnance Technician to support our aviation maintenance team. You will inspect, maintain, configure, and support aircraft ordnance systems and armament equipment to ensure mission readiness.

The role requires personnel to manage explosive safety, traceability, and compliance while working in a fast‑paced, mission‑focused environment. FAA/DoD‑style standard procedures apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years aviation ordnance or armament systems experience; rotary‑wing experience preferred.
• Experience in a military ordnance MOS, related armament specialty, or equivalent background is preferred.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and pass a background check and be able to obtain and maintain a CAC.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspection, operational checks, maintenance, and support of aircraft ordnance systems, armament equipment, and related components.
• Loads, downloads, configures, and services aircraft ordnance systems and armament support equipment within training and authorization limits.
• Performs troubleshooting, repair, and preservation of assigned weapons and armament systems.
• Uses technical manuals, drawings, directives, and required checklists in the performance of assigned duties.
• Maintains ordnance records, logs, and required maintenance documentation using OOMA and required forms.
• Supports flight line operations, launch and recovery, and turn‑around requirements, as assigned.
• Ensures compliance with explosive safety, handling, storage, and accountability requirements applicable to the work center.

This position is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, configuration, and support of aircraft ordnance systems, armament equipment, and related components to ensure safe and effective mission readiness. The ideal candidate has experience with aircraft weapons and armament systems, a strong understanding of technical publications and explosive safety requirements, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, accountability, and operational support in a fast‑paced, mission‑focused environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years aviation ordnance or armament systems experience; rotary‑wing experience preferred.
• Experience in a military ordnance MOS, related armament specialty, or equivalent background is preferred.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and pass a background check and be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
• Must be able to meet any Government and company licensing or qualification requirements for the position.
• Able to read and interpret maintenance procedures, manuals, technical publications, directives, and forms used on the job.
• Demonstrate knowledge of explosive safety requirements and proper handling of ordnance components.
• Must show proficiency in the use of OOMA within 60 days after assignment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance level for the position.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
• Able to pass a fit‑for‑work physical and/or drug test as required.
• Must be able to work in areas that require awkward posturing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and working overhead.
• Must be able to work at height in the hangar and on the flight line, as required.
• Must be able to man and perform flight line extinguisher duties, as required.
• If required, must be able to pass a DOT physical and operate powered industrial trucks.
• If required, must be able to pass a respiratory physical and wear a respirator for 2 to 4 hours.
• If required, must be able to perform confined‑space activities.
• Travel may be required.
• Position is contingent upon award.
