Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Washington state seeks a senior technician to perform post DD250 missile final assembly and disassembly tasks, including handling, testing, and mating operations. You will work with special equipment, perform alterations, and support complex checkout procedures.

The role requires at least 12 months of industrial experience, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance with Interim Secret before start.

Qualifications

Standard Job Description

DD250 final assembly and subassembly of missiles as well as tasks associated with processing their designated reentry bodies.

WORK PERFORMED

Determine sequence of events and equipment required to perform any post DD250 final assembly and disassembly tasks related to missile operations such as package, unpackage, modification, repair, checkout, testing, movement, removal, and installation of mechanical and electrical components, mate and demate of reentry bodies and related operations. Determine method, tools, equipment, and handling techniques necessary to carry out special alterations on missile/reentry body system hardware. Assist in the performance of missile preset testing involving connection to and operation of missile checkout equipment. Perform authorized repairs, component replacement, test, checkout and inspection of reentry bodies. Operate all equipment required to position major vehicle components and support equipment and make alterations and repairs to support and/or handling equipment. Perform classified courier responsibilities. Perform duties associated with management of the nuclear weapons COSAL system, such as initiating requisitions, inventory control, etc. Provide guidance and assistance to less experienced employees in the performance of duties described.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required

Possess full knowledge of post DD250 missile final assembly, disassembly, handling, testing and reentry body maintenance and mating operations to establish proper processing techniques for all related tasks, including the maintenance of test, handling and support equipment as appropriate for a senior in this classification. Possess mechanical aptitude and the ability to use general purpose hand tools. Experience in procedural disciplines and ability to follow a set of instructions. Skilled in the use of computers and ability to learn new computer applications. Ability to qualify for and maintain certifications/qualifications and/or licenses to perform assigned duties. Ability to meet and maintain the requirements of the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).

Basic Qualifications
  • Possess an elementary knowledge of product final assembly, disassembly, handling and testing typically gained through a minimum of 12 months experience in an industrial environment or equivalent.
  • Familiarity in procedural disciplines and ability to follow a set of instructions.
  • Possess mechanical aptitude and the ability to use general purpose hand tools.
  • Skilled in the use of computers and ability to learn new computer applications.
  • Ability to qualify for and maintain certifications/qualifications and /or licenses to perform assigned duties.
  • Ability to meet and maintain the requirements of the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance with an Interim Secret granted prior to start.
Desired Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in teams; desirable candidates should possess a high level of personal attributes/qualities, demonstrated mechanical abilities should be considerable and readily apparent through the description of prior job experience.
  • Desirable candidates should possess an adequate knowledge of preventative and corrective maintenance systems.
  • FBM program experience and knowledge of Lockheed Martin-SWFPAC business operations is a plus.
  • Candidate must be able to lift 45 lbs., be able to climb vertical ladders and exhibit manual dexterity.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance, with an Interim Secret Clearance required prior to start.
Pay Information
  • $35.92 - $48.98
