Order Selector Operator

Summary

This position involves frequent stacking of cases onto pallets throughout the refrigerated warehouse using a lowboy forklift, RF scanner, and system-generated work lists. The successful candidate will stack cases of finished beef and pork products to build full pallets, with the ability to lift, push, pull, or carry 70 pounds or more. The role requires standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching, often in cold environments averaging 28°F, with occasional temperatures of 0°F. Other duties may be assigned by management.

Note: This position involves operating a forklift in a refrigerated warehouse with temperatures ranging from -10° to 30°F.

Qualifications
  • Must have 1 year of forklift and warehouse experience with a single employer within the last 5 years.

  • Cold storage experience is preferred.

  • Must be willing to frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 70 lbs, and occasionally up to 90 lbs.

  • Full range of motion of arms, wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck, digits, and legs required.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods with good balance.

  • May work with corrective lenses if needed.

  • PPE for hearing protection may be provided as needed.

  • Must pass post-offer health assessment and drug screening.

Responsibilities
  • Willingness to move quickly and perform tasks such as bending, squatting, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 40 pounds during a 12-hour shift.

  • Use of handheld scanners to track products during loading, unloading, and movement.

  • Perform other routine job duties as assigned.

  • Follow all Tyson policies and safety guidelines.

  • Cross-training and flexibility to work in other areas as needed.

Environment
  • Driving PIT equipment including stand-up forklifts and reach trucks in damp and cold environments (-10°F to 30°F, up to 12 hours).

  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) provided after a 90-day probation period.

  • Team members must wear steel or composite toe boots that meet ANSI standards with slip-resistant soles and cover the ankles (composite toe preferred).

  • Operation of stand-up Crown PIT Forklifts and Reach Trucks, with possible training on Cherry pickers.

  • Standing or walking up to 100% of the time during shifts.

Starting Pay Rate
  • $24.60/hr

Shift Availability

Shift availability is determined by business needs at the time of offer:

  • Sunday to Tuesday, 6am to 6pm

  • Wednesday, 6am to 12:15pm

Additional Notes

This location is not considering prior Tyson Team Members at this time.

Relocation assistance is not available for this role.
