Shimano North America Holding, Inc. is hiring an Order Selector (Forklift) in Ladson, SC to efficiently pick and move products within the distribution center.

The role requires operating a forklift, using RF scanners, and maintaining inventory accuracy and cleanliness in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has experience with forklift equipment, basic computer skills, and the ability to read pick tickets.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Pick orders for shipping in the distribution center.
• Operate forklift to move products and load pallets.
• Use RF scanner to confirm items and locations.
• Maintain accuracy and 5S in work area; meet pick rate requirements.
• Overtime as needed and perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Job Summary:

The Order Selector picks products in the Distribution Center. Place orders on pallets and staging areas. Operates forklift to pick products. Efficiently handle merchandise flow throughout the distribution center in an accurate, productive, and safe manner.

Job Level:

Entry Level

• Order picking per pick ticket requirements. Maintain accuracy, cleanliness, 5S practice, and maintain pick rate requirements.
• Pick orders from the carousel, main, flow racks/pick module, and other areas as necessary. Use RF scanner for picking.
• Heavy use of Crown forklift stock pickers and reach lifts as primary picking equipment.
• Read orders for shipping information, special instructions, product location, and quantity accurately.
• Cycle counting and inventory control.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Work in other areas as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Job Qualifications:

• Experience with Microsoft Office Products and AS400 knowledge.
• Repetitively lift up to 50lbs.
• Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read and do basic mathematics. Understand and respond to written and verbal instructions in English for the purposes of safety, work instructions, policies, etc.
• Other duties assigned by Supervisor.

Education:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Approximately 100% of the time performing job duties is spent indoors in a warehouse with limited heating or air conditioning.
• The temperature of the work environment, when in the office, is moderate.
• The temperature of the work environment in the warehouse may equal to the outside temperatures of the area.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to the risk of electric shock.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands:

• Seldom lift from overhead or below the waist
• Occasionally bend, twist, push, pull, climb, squat, crawl, kneel
• Frequently reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stand and walk; grasp with hands and fingers; and lift (up to 50 lbs.)
• Continuously sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and key (i.e., computer, calculator, telephone).

Machines, Tools and Equipment

• Frequently use copier, fax, and 10-key calculator
• Continuously use writing instruments, computer and telephone
• Continuously use standup reach, propane sit-down, and picking lift forklifts
