Job summary

PITCO Foods is a large independent foodservice distributor in Northern California, with distribution centers in San Jose, Brisbane, Oakland, and Sacramento. A Forklift Operator is responsible for moving and organizing materials within a warehouse, ensuring efficient and safe operations.

This role requires at least 2 years of stocker or comparable experience, the ability to pass a drug test and background check, and a willingness to work with safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Authorized to work in the USA.
• Bi-lingual is a plus but not required.
• Must pass a drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers.
• Communicates with supervisors and managers to determine merchandising plan and priorities.
• Stocks shelves, aligns merchandise, collects and returns stray items.
• Cuts boxes for display/accessibility of merchandise and cuts wrap from pallets.
• Moves and positions pallets of merchandise; stacks partial pallets onto full pallets.
• Checks for correct merchandise signs.
• Pulls loose cardboard and slip sheets from the floor; clears sales floor of debris and sweeps.
• Removes empty pallets from aisles.
• Operates pallet jack, forklift, cardboard baler, and trash compactors safely, keeping away from front-end and customer traffic.
• Repeats rewraps loose merchandise; places trash in appropriate locations.
• Follows all safety and security procedures.
• Spots forklift drivers to keep people out of fall danger zones.
• Follows inventory preparation guidelines and requirements.
• Assists in other warehouse departments as necessary.

POSITION SUMMARY

A Pitco Foods warehouse Forklift Operator is responsible for using a forklift to move and organize materials within a warehouse or distribution center, ensuring efficient and safe operations.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A.

PAY RATE

$21.00 – $23.00 per hour.
