Job summary

ModelDairy is seeking an Order Selector for our cold warehouse in Reno, NV (1st shift). This full-time, on-site role focuses on accurate order picking, proper stock rotation, and maintaining a safe, clean workstation.

Responsibilities include unloading/loading pallets with a pallet jack, staging products for shipping, and following written load tickets. Candidates should have 2+ years in cold storage and be able to lift 50–100 lbs and work any shift, including weekends.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in a cold storage environment.
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently on highly detailed tasks.
• Lift or drag up to 50–100 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accuracy in picking orders and proper stock rotation.
• Unload/load pallets using pallet jack; stage products for shipping.
• Follow safety rules and company policies; keep a clean workstation.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Description

Essential Functions:

• Approach work with a Continuous Improvement mindset, and engage inModel Dairy Mission Statement to identify, value, prioritize, resource and sustain improvement opportunities.
• Own and promote a Safety Culture by ensuring a safe work environment and promoting proper safety behavior.
• Excellent attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
• Maintaining accuracy in picking orders.
• Maintaining proper product rotation. Checking all codes and stock in area.
• Maintaining a clean workstation at all times, including cardboard boxes.
• Getting empty cases for building of by-products.
• Getting tags for identifying stacks for loading.
• Taking all leakers to the reprocess area. Notifying supervisor and/or Filler Operator if the leakers are coming from the plant.
• Maintaining appropriate dress and personal appearance standards.
• Knowing, understanding and adhering to all Company policies and procedures.
• Promoting and maintaining company goodwill in all areas. Assisting others and performing other tasks as appropriate and/or necessary.
• Unload trailers of empty pallets and cases using pallet jack, move cases to washer for cleaning.
• Load pallets into trucks using pallet jack; ability to follow written load tickets for accurate shipments.
• Stage product for shipping; ability to follow written load tickets for accurate loads.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 2 or more years of experience in a cold storage environment.
• Must be humble, approachable, and honest, yet able to lead and hold others accountable.
• Must be a trustworthy self-starter who can work independently on highly detailed tasks and deliver accurate, timely results.
• Must be flexible and able to work any shift.
• Demonstrate good judgement, and problem solving and decision-making skills as well as being an organized record keeper.
• Ability to learn quickly and continuously.
• Must be able to stand/walk/stoop and bend and be on your feet for long periods and lift or drag up to 50-100 lbs.
• Must be able to work safely around industrial machinery.
• Must be able to work in cold (refrigerated) environment.
• Must be available to work any shift including weekends.
