Job summary

Dawn Foods in Houston is seeking an Order Selector for the Afternoon Shift to support distribution warehouse activities. You will select, palletize, and prepare orders for delivery, stock inbound products, and operate SAP scanning devices to ensure accurate inventory and efficient shipments.

Qualifications

• Operate forklift, pallet jack, electric rider jack, electric pallet jack and pallet wrap machines.
• Minimum 6 months of related experience or 1 full year non-related employment experience.
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly.
• Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, wheat, and soy.
• Ability to stand, walk, and use hands to grasp and manipulate objects; work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Select, palletize, and shrink wrap customer orders for delivery.
• Receive and stock inbound product; rotate and replenish stock.
• Safely load trailers in a productive manner.
• Operate handheld SAP scanning devices for warehouse operations.
• Maintain cleanliness and follow safe food handling procedures.
• Perform related duties as assigned and support Dawn culture.

Shift Schedule:

• Sunday – Thursday
• Overtime and Weekends required based on business needs.

Job Purpose and Overview

As a Shipper/Receiver you will participate in the distribution warehouse activities related to receiving, storing, selecting, shipping, dispatching, and delivery of products to ensure effective and efficient warehouse operations and product transportation.

What Does It Take to be a Shipper/Receiver at Dawn Foods?

• Ability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, electric rider jacks, electric pallet jacks, trailer lift gates and pallet wrap machines
• Minimum 6 months of related experience or 1 full year non-related employment experience
• Must be able to lift 50+ pound repeatedly
• Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, wheat, and soy.
• Ability to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to withstand cool and/or cold temperatures
• Available to work overtime as required

What will you do as a Shipper/Receiver at Dawn Foods?

• Correctly select, palletize, and shrink wrap customers’ orders preparing them for delivery.
• Receive and stock inbound product in its designated locations. Rotate and replenish current stock in its designated locations.
• Safely load trailers in an even and productive fashion
• Ability to understand and operate handheld computer and scanning devices for SAP that is used for all aspects of warehouse operations
• Maintain cleanliness of entire warehouse and practice safe food handling procedures
• Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein
• Support the Circle of Excellence and the Dawn Philosophy of Team Dawn
