Job summary

Rexel USA is seeking an experienced Order Picker in Illinois to accurately pick customer orders using an RF scanner and stand-up forklift. You will ensure orders are prepared for shipping, resolve shipping method conflicts, and hand off completed picks to the shipping team.

The role requires up to 50 lb lifting, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. Qualified candidates have 1 year of warehouse experience, HS diploma or GED, and proficiency with English reading/writing.

Qualifications

• 1 year of warehouse experience preferred.
• Experience operating handheld RF scanners and forklifts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Pick customer orders accurately and promptly.

Job Description

Summary: We are seeking an Order Picker that has strengths in using an RF Scanner, and the ability to pick orders for customers in a timely manner. Your expertise will help drive a service excellence work environment.

What You'll Do:

• Promote a positive working environment based on team dynamics, mutual respect, and adherence to the organization’s stated principles and values
• Pick customer orders, of all types, accurately, and in a timely manner
• Determine if orders can ship via the manner indicated on the picking ticket and take the necessary actions to resolve incompatible shipping methods
• Provide picked orders to the shipping team / will call support for outbound processing
• Demonstrate and apply analytic problem-solving skills to resolve day-to-day inventory issues that impact order-picking processes
• Participate in daily cleaning and upkeep of the facility
• Displays strong work ethic and honesty and adheres to all company policies and procedures
• Engages in work with a high sense of urgency, highly organized and detail-oriented
• Be open to change and deal calmly and effectively with high-stress situations

• Must be able to operate a standard and stand-up forklift
• Required to be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and be able to bend and reach overhead
• Must be able to work under deadline pressure as organizational skills are the key to finding and providing merchandise quickly and accurately for customer orders
• Experience using a handheld scanner
• Ability to read and write in English. Basic math skills.
• Customer Service skills a plus
